English School 2025
The year 2025 got off to a late start due to our flight cancellation from a huge snowfall. This made us arriving on January 19th and having registration day on the 23rd. I keep in touch with Aruna, who owns Octopus Gardens, and she puts signs up announcing when the classes will start. Scotty also tells Manuel,my long time student, who gets the word out. We had 40 students registered on registration day and 56 by the end of the first week.
Our usual classes ran basically in the 40s most of the year and 11 students had perfect attendance. We have our talented and faithful teachers Val, Sue, Gigi, Goeff and Laurel, and this year added Ruben.
My little dog Sophie, class mascot, is always waiting for petting as the students arrive.
This year we had a lot of teenagers and young adults. Since we are upstairs and limited for space we no longer accept students under 8 years old.
Those students who remain with us for a number of years get really quite good at English it seems. We run into them at different jobs and workplace as adults.
This year our teachers luncheon was held at La Peska restaurant on the top of the Marina Yacht Club. Such a beautiful view and of course we always enjoy mimosas.
My class, teachers and students are my Mexican family. My class students have been with me for years and often bring flan for celebrating birthdays and special events
I thank God every year for this blessing in my life.
